The color palette literally puts them back in Batman's shadow, something they've spent the entire game coming out from. This style of suit is highly reminiscent of Batman's batsuit and essentially erases the identity of the knight that wears it. They are all black and gray, with a pop of color being added to each hero's logo to differentiate them.


These characters spent the game becoming their own heroes, each capable of protecting Gotham City on their own, only to have their ultimate suits make them look like Batman's backup dancers.Įach Knighthood Suit in Gotham Knights follows the same near-monochromatic color palette. Each of the Knighthood character customization suits in Gotham Knights is mostly black, with their logo done in a style reminiscent of Batman's from Gotham Knights' and his more recent comic runs. The Knighthood Suits unlocked by beating Gotham Knights' story mode present a weird contradiction by tying each of the four heroes visually to Batman while the game is about them becoming their own heroes outside of Batman's shadow. However, the Knighthood Suits unlocked at the end of the game completely clashes with this theme. The finding of their own identity as heroes is key to each of their stories. The game is ostensibly about the four protagonists, Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl, and Robin, coming into their own as defenders of Gotham City in the wake of Batman's death. Gotham Knights' Knighthood Suits present an odd conflict with the game's themes.
